As the end of Semester 1 fast approaches, academic reports are being prepared. End of Semester reports are a summation of each child’s progress for this period.
Over the next few years, Catholic Education Schools are engaging in a systematic implementation of Australian Curriculum Version 9. You may notice report card changes to reflect the implementation of the updated curriculum.
INTRODUCING THE LEARNING DASHBOARD
THE NEW LOCATION TO FIND YOUR CHILD'S END OF SEMESTER REPORT
From Semester 1 2025, St Michael’s School will be transitioning to our new academic reporting application, The Learning Dashboard (TLD). On Thursday 26th June 2025, you will be using the new app to access your child's Semester 1 report and all future reports.
You will notice some differences with TLD compared to our previous system. Rather than accessing a PDF report, TLD will take you to your child's report via a modern web interface, providing an improved user experience when accessing it via your mobile phone, tablet or computer.
The new report will also include student cohort data about their achievement judgements. This cohort graph provides you with a visual indicator about your child’s grade and those of their peers.
How do I access the new system?
You can access TLD via Parent Portal or MyCE. Once you have navigated to TLD users will need to login again using their Parent Portal Credentials.
Can I still have a PDF version of my report?
Yes. There is a print PDF functionality available within TLD. On clicking the blue ‘Print PDF’ button on the top right-hand corner of the dashboard, a PDF of the report will be downloaded. Further guidance on these steps is provided in the training materials.
How do I access previous reports created in the old system?
You will continue to access your previous reports via the School Portal as you have in the past. All future reports will be accessible via The Learning Dashboard.
What do I need to do now in readiness?
Can you access the MyCE App or Parent Portal? See below for a reminder on how to download the MyCE App. and also ensure you have current Parent Portal access.
Parent Portal & MyCE Mobile App Set Up
Before accessing the MyCE Mobile App, all NEW families will first need to ensure you have set up access to the St Michael's School Parent Portal. Please download the document below to complete this step first. You will then use the same login and password to set up your MyCE Mobile App access.
If you haven't already:
- Download the App
- Enable Notifications: to ensure you don’t miss any important alerts.
- Regularly Check the App: For school news, updates, events, and other important information.
Who has access to the App?
All Parents and Carers who are listed as either a legal guardian and/or caregiver with Parent Portal access set up will have access to the MyCE Mobile App.
Where can I get the App?
To get started, simply download the MyCE Mobile App, using the links below, and sign in with your current Parent Portal login and password.

Car Park Expectations
Schools are busy areas, where there are often lots of children—who do not always understand the danger of roads and vehicles.
We have noticed a recent increase in the number of students walking unaccompanied through the staff car park during drop-off and pick-up times. While we understand that students may be trying to take the most direct route, this area is not designed for pedestrian access and poses a significant safety risk due to vehicle movement.
To ensure the safety of all students, we kindly ask for your support in the following:
- Please remind your child to use the designated pedestrian pathways at all times.
- Avoid dropping off or picking up students in or near the staff car park.
- Younger studentsto walk with an adult or older sibling if possible.
Please also note that the staff car park located between the school and the church is reserved strictly for:
- School employees
- Individuals with a valid disability parking permit
We kindly ask all others to use alternative parking areas to ensure accessibility and safety for those who need it.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community safe. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
Prep A
Prep are smashing their spelling words and learning how to play dominoes!
Congratulations to all our clever learners—keep up the fantastic work!

Class 1A
Thank you to Year 1 family members who were able to attend the Year 1 Liturgy and Assembly Prayer. 1A has had a busy week demonstrating learning in most subject areas. We are looking forward to a change of scenery for the Teddy Bear's Picnic and Junior Sports Carnival.
Class 2A
Year 2A have been exploring the features of information texts. They are now using Book Creator to turn their writing into engaging multimodal texts which includes images, audio and text to present their learning.
Class 3A

Class 4A
In 4A, students have been busy crafting their own story endings as part of our narrative writing unit. They explored how to develop characters and use descriptive language to engage the reader. We have also focused on revising and editing to strengthen their writing. We are proud of the imaginative and thoughtful stories students have created, and these will soon be on display in the library for families and peers to enjoy.
Class 5A
Term 2 is tracking really well in Year 5. The students have been putting in solid effort across the board. Well done to 5A for their outstanding performance at the sports carnival—they gave it their all and showed great team spirit. Looking forward to finishing the term strong!
Class 6A
Last week, the Year 6 students proved themselves worthy role models for our school as they led the way during our 2025 Athletics Carnival during Thursday and Friday. These are a long two days with many things happening and the Year 6 students, particularly the House Captains (seen in the photos below), stepped up to guide, support, organise and inspire their peers. Never did I have to ask or instruct them to assist. They were simply there, on the job and showed great initiative. Most importantly, they never ‘dropped the ball’, fulfilling their tasks to the very end of the carnival with help packing up. Congratulations Year 6. Keep it up.

Over the weekend, four of our students—Gareth, Eddie, Harvey, and Joey—took on the challenge of the Iron Kids event in Cairns, joining over 500 enthusiastic participants from across the region.
