Class News & Awards

Prep A

In Prep A we have been busy learning numbers to 10. What the numeral looks like, how to read the number when it is in word form, and subitising to make these numbers. We had a visit from RACQ this week too, with lots being learned about road and car safety.

Prep B

In Maths Prep students have been exploring, investigating and becoming familiar with numbers and number sequence from zero to five.  Students have been learning how to show numbers 0-5 in different ways, how to subitise and sort collections up to 5.

Class 1B

We have had a lovely start to the year in 1B!
The students have settled in well and are quickly learning our class routines and expectations. It is fantastic to see them all so ready to learn. In English we have been looking at and identifying how different characters are depicted in texts. We are now starting to write simple character descriptions of our own. Skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s has been our focus this week in Maths and we’ve had lots of fun demonstrating how to skip count. We are looking forward to a fun year of learning with our friends.

Class 2B

What a busy start to the term! In 2B we have started exploring the world of Poetry through words, sounds and imagery. This week we started creating some poems as a class based around shapes such as the moon, sun and stars. Together we looked at adjectives we could use to describe the shapes and ways to create rhyme in our poems.

Class 3B

The start of the school year in Year 3B is always an exciting time! The students, are becoming familiar with the expectations and routines of the "upper school," and are ready to dive into new adventures. They are learning how to navigate the stairs, follow classroom expectations, and work together as a team. With a sense of confidence and curiosity, they're eager to explore new subjects, make new friends, and take on challenges that will help them grow. Here's to a fantastic year ahead in Year 3B! ✨

Class 4B

4B have been working on addition using trading with MAB. We have also been making 3D shapes with tiles.

Class 5B

Students decorated masks for Health as we have started learning about how diverse we are as a class! Students spent time making sure their masks were indivualised and reflective of their personality! Finished masks have been displayed in the classroom! We also learnt the term 'weathering' in our Science lesson and about climate change in our HASS lesson.

Class 6B

Year 6 B students have had an excellent start to their final year of primary school. Students have already been fulfilling a number of their leadership responsibilities such as sports shed monitors, playground guardians, assisting with tuckshop deliveries and recycling. This term  we are focussing on biographies (English), cartesian planes (maths), the solar system (science), Australian Federation (HASS) and safe/cautious online behaviour (health and technology).
